Welcome to Tents and Trails!
My husband and I loved to camp during our pre-children years of marriage. We knew camping would be more complicated once our family expanded, but we were determined to make it work! It is so easy to slip into the habit of saying, “Well, next year, when they’re older…” and suddenly find yourself ten years later with the tent still in storage.
Our desire is for our kids to never know a time when they haven’t camped. Our goals are threefold:
- Spend time together as a family, away from the hubbub and busyness of day-to-day life.
- Learn to appreciate the outdoors and not be afraid of nature.
- Live a simpler life for a few days, to better appreciate those who live this way all the time.
And just so you can get to know us, here are the cast of characters:
Husband and I, married since 2006. We have enjoyed many camping trips along the way!
Our two daughters, ages 3.5 and 10 months.
My best friend and her two kids, a daughter 4 years old and a son 1 year old. We often camp together (though we have yet to try camping with all four kids at once!).
